Description: Journaling reads � Lillian � before she was my father�s wife � before she was my mother � a young woman with hopes and dreams who I will never know My mother was born on November 16, 1893. She would have been 18 years old when this picture was taken in 1912. The original photo is in very bad shape. I�m no expert but I did what I could to restore it. There are so few pictures of my mother in her youth that I treasure the few I have. By the time I was born she was 44 years old and had 5 other children. Even though she was the best mother any child could hope to have, I�ve often looked at this picture and wondered what hopes and dreams she had at that age and if any of her dreams had ever been realized. Description: kit Marion's Boys Own font Acid Dreamer journaling reads: "This is Scamper, so funny looking she was a cutie. It broke my heart when I started sneezing when she was around me. When any of the girls or I got sick she became our 'nurse', sleeping by us and letting others know we needed something when we asked her." Vicky found a home where Scamper was going to stay and if it worked out (they had several large dogs) they would keep her. The mom took one look and teared up because she looked almost exactly like her favorite pet as a child. She stayed there. We went to visit once, but it upset us too much to see here, so we didn't go back. She was really happy with so many companions.

Marinated Strawberries

Description: A bit different than you had in mind, i am sure!! BUT it is my favorite marinade recipe, and it is in season now. Marinated Strawberries Pick out the nicest berries for garnish, and set them aside. Slice the rest (use an egg slicer), and put them in a Ziplock Bag. Pour a glass or 2 of white wine over the berries, to cover them. Pour another glass for the cook. Add 2 or 3 tablespoons of brown sugar to the berries. Shake or stir gently to dissolve sugar. Zip the bag, squeezing out as much air as possible. Refrigerate for a couple of hours,turning bag over partway through. Serve over sponge cake, pound cake or ice cream.
